Prima zi a mobilității la Istanbul a fost una încărcată de emoții. Vechi parteneri s-au reîntâlnit și îmbrățișat ca după o lungă despărțire și timpul depănării amintirilor a fost neîndestulat. Profesori și elevi deopotrivă s-au delectat rememorând filmul “acțiunii” din Sneek, Olanda, de la începutul lui octombrie.
Primirea gazdelor a fost ca în “O mie și una de nopți”: de altfel, ospitalitatea turcească este de neegalat. Baclavale, ceai, durum, cafea, sucuk fac parte din peisajul obișnuit al unei zile oarecare în Istanbul. Adaugați la toate astea căldura localnicilor și felul lor debordant de jovialitate și nu ai cum să nu te simți ca în poveștile tradiționale turcești cu cafea la nisip si narghilele în timp ce imamul își cheamă credincioșii la rugăciunea de seară.
Directorii prestigiosului “Bilim Koleji” din Istanbul ne-au așteptat chiar la intrarea liceului, primindu-și musafirii cu fastul demn de un sultan și ne-au însoțit în turul școlii, prezentându-ne prestigioasele lor realizări. Acesta s-a încheiat în biblioteca liceului cu discursurile țărilor participante în proiect: Olanda, Grecia, România și Turcia. Colegiul nostru a fost reprezentat de prof. Cristina Belei și prof. Dan Matica și elevii Samir Aljarayda, Olga Preda și Alexa Zorana Draga. Tot aici s-au desfășurat și primele activități: prezentarea școlilor, calcularea amprentei de carbon și realizarea pașaportului digital al fiecărui participant.
Prima zi s-a încheiat cu un savuros dineu oferit de școala gazdă la care au participat toate familiile unde sunt cazați elevii nostri, precum și profesorii școlii și cei patru directori. În ciuda atmosferei de “Babel” lingvistic, căldura cu care gazdele ne-au înconjurat, strădania lor de a ne face să ne simțim acasă departe de casă și aromatele bucate otomane ne-au cucerit dorindu-ne să ne însoțim cu prietenii noștri din Istanbul în cât mai multe proiecte de viitor.

The first day of the mobility in Istanbul was filled with emotions. Old partners got together again as if after a long separation, eager to walk down memory lane and reminisce although time was not on our side. Teachers and students alike indulged in recollecting the October “plot” of our trip to Sneek, Holland.
The hosts gave us such a warm welcome that we felt as if we were in “One Thousand and One Nights” or the “Arabian Nights”: after all, Turkish hospitaly is unrivalled. Baklava, tea, durum, sucuk, coffee are part of the common place ritual of a regular day in Istanbul. Add to all this the embracing warmth of the locals and their exuberant joviality and you cannot help feeling like in one of their traditional stories with bubbling hot sand coffee overflowing the pot and smoking narghile while the imam’s wail is calling the faithful to the daily prayers.
The principals of the prestigious “Bilim Koleji” in Istanbul awaited our arrival with a heart-felt welcome at the high school main entrance. It was worthy of a sultan. They took us on a tour of the school and presented all of their remarkable achievements, which are not few. This ended in the school library where each country delivered their speeches: The Netherlands, Greece, Romania and Turkiye. Our school was represented by teachers Cristina Belei and Matica Dan and the following students: Samir Aljarayda, Olga Preda and Alexa Zorana Draga. It was here as well that the first activities took place: the presentation of the schools, calculating the carbon footprint of each participant and designing the digital passport for every student.
The first day round up with a savory dinner on behalf of the school where all the host families participated and the school principals and our enchanting teacher hosts went out and beyond to meet our every need. Despite the atmosphere alikening a linguistic “Babel”, the warmth we were surrounded with, the staff’s effort to make us feel home away from home, the mouth-watering Otoman cuisine unreservedly “conquered” us, making us desire to continue this friendship and cooperation for years to come.
